10/27/2015 0 Comments Retail TherapyOkay ladies, I'm putting on my therapist hat. Have you ever been pissed off at your hubby, frustrated with your kids or felt like a single parent wife???? Well I have a temporary fix, RETAIL THERAPY. When no one gives a damn about you, or at least you are "in your feelings " and feel that way, you should always give a damn about yourself. Take YOU to do all the things that YOU want to do. For me, it's shopping. I love clothes, shoes and makeup. I love the way I feel when shopping in my favorite store while no other patrons are there. I love getting deals. A typical day would go like this...
8am - 10am - Eat breakfast by myself without having to share food off my plate likes mom my bird and then wash the dishes. Instead, I just eat, leave a good tip at Waffle House and leave. 10am - 1pm - Shop until my feet hurt or I get hungry. 1pm - 2pm - Eat a quiet lunch while I read a book, or watch a ratcheted show on Hulu or Netflix. 2pm - 4pm - Shop some more. 4pm -6pm - Go home, play "dress up" and take a nap. 6pm - 10pm - Call up my girls for some drinks. Slip on a new outfit, go out and drink some Jack or Angry Beaver.....(yup) 10pm - ??? - Then go home and let my husband do "boyfriend" things to me. Yep, that's retail therapy at its finest!!!!

10/15/2015 0 Comments What the HELL for!?!?!?After years of "dieting" and "lifestyle changes" I beginning to ask myself, "WHAT THE HELL FOR?" Tomorrow I will turn 31 years old. I'm too damn old to be worried about body images and tight dresses. I'm too old to be looking at infomercials about waist trainers (I ain't buying that crap.) I'm too old NOT to walk around around wearing a cloak of confidence. I know many of you are saying, "But you gotta eat healthy" "I won't hurt you to lose weight" "Besides, it's only a lifestyle change.." Well you know what...I do eat healthy, I wouldn't mind losing weight, and I have a good lifestyle. This overweight body that you see is NOT the body of a fast-food addicts or someone who is allergic to walking. This is the body that gave birth to 4 children. This is s body that fits uniquely and sensually with my husband. (And he ain't complaining.) This is the body that will watch cartoons versus running a 5 k. This is a body that actually enjoys a good meal.
And, to all those people who say , "You gotta make time to workout." Do I look like a m@&$?!*^%#g "time-maker"?!?! I mean, "Where they do that at?" Is time just something I can whip up in the kitchen? And 9 times out of 10, the people making those statements are either Childless, have older independent children, or just generally have their evening free or only themselves to get ready in the morning. So, if my day regularly starts at 5:30 am and ends at 10:30pm, when would you suggest I workout? Here is how I measure my health: 1. Am I able to cheer for my kids without becoming breathless? Yes 2. Can I chase someone or run if someone is chasing me? Yes 3. Can I throw a solid punch? Yes 4. Am I on any regulatory medication? No 5. Can I still fit my clothes from last year or 3 years prior? Yes. 10/12/2015 1 Comment Wine Helps Me Study...As many of you know, I'm a very hard working woman. And sometimes at the end of a very long day, I still have to study for Grad School. So I drink. Not to help me relax or unwind. (I have other proven methods for that.) I drink because it helps me study. No really, it really does help me focus and study. So each night, because I'm a good student and I study daily, I have a contemporary glass of wine. I could be red or white. (Although I greatly prefer red.) I could be expensive or only cost $4.99 and a wink. Merlot, Cabernet or Cabernet Sauvignon...I love them. I take a sip...read some grad school text....take another sip...write some notes....take 2-3 sips and start all over again. And after I have finished studying, I sleep like a baby.
Do you know how much work it takes to get 4 kids and yourself "presentable" for church??? I mean, it's not like a regular school morning with muffins and uniforms. NO! We're going into the Lord's House. Everyone must be looking their best.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love going to church and often (as in 2-3 Sundays a month) teach the toddler class. But sometimes ya'll......this girl be tired!! I work Monday-Friday, grad classes Tuesday - Thursday night, Football Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays and also on Saturdays I tackle the house!!!!!! So....on Sunday, I would prefer to worship God, read and study the word during the kids NAPTIME...IJS |
