Holes in My Shirt....Cool

As we all know, School is starting soon. I am trying to get the kids to be more responsible so that the mornings aren’t so hectic. So I have started to trust the kids to dress themselves daily without looking as if they don’t belong to people who love them. Elliot seems to be having a slightly difficult time. Recently I asked him to go put on a T-shirt. He came back with a dirty T-shirt. Obviously dirty, food stains, wrinkled, hobo-ish look. Because we were in a rush, I decided to pick out a shirt for him. I give him the shirt that you see in the picture. His only response was, “Mom this shirt is so cool it has two big holes on the side where I could put my arms thru!” I stared at my son for a long, long time. Then I dropped a bomb shell on him. “Elliott, those aren’t just big holes in your shirt. It’s just a sleeveless shirt honey.”
