"Oh my gosh!! She's going to grow up to be your best friend!" "You have no idea how awesome girls are!" "She is gonna get those boys in line!" "Girls are so much easier than boys." "Girls potty train very easy." These are all the things other parents said to me when they found out I was pregnant with Eve. Everyone said that a "girl" would add piece to the chaos that comes along with having 3 boys. They did not mention the attitude... {Dad come into bedroom to watch TV while Mom and Eve organize bookshelf} Eve: Daddy, I want to watch mother-goose club. Dad: No, Eve. Daddy is watching TV. Eve: (now whining) Daddy, I wanna watch Mother Goose Club. Dad: NO. I'm watching TV. Eve: (shouting and leaning forward) WHATEVA!!!!! People also flat-out lied!!!!!! GIRLS ARE NOT EASIER TO POTTY TRAIN. I NEVER HAD TO CHECK ON MY BOYS EVERY 5-10 MINUTES AFTER I PUT THEM TO BED TO MAKE SURE THEY STILL HAD THEIR DIAPER ON!!!!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY SHEETS/BLANKETS/PJS WE HAVE HAD TO CHANGE IN 1 WEEK ALONE. We are now on mattress #2. (With a plastic cover.) P S. If I hear her say, "Mommy, I defecate" one more time.....I'm gonna lose it.
